STEAM CLEANERS for

Wine Cellar sanitization

STEAM GENERATORS

for cellar and winery sanitization

Wineries operating in the wine sector are equipped with fast, efficient and, above all, automated bottling systems. The machinery used in this type of winery very often accumulates dirt and bacteria, making it very difficult to intervene with traditional winery cleaning and sanitizing systems.

STI Steam Industry has developed steam cleaning machines that effectively and successfully meet the needs of the winery sector, allowing companies to work in an environment that is always clean and sanitized, saving considerable time and reaching even the most difficult corners during the cleaning process.

STI Steam Industry’s steam cleaning technology not only saves time, but also eliminates the use of chemical detergents, which in the long run contribute to damaging our planet.

How to sanitize the wine cellar?

Sanitizing the wine cellar is crucial to guarantee the quality and purity of the wine produced. The following is a summary of the standard steps for a comprehensive cellar cleaning:

  1. Initial cleaning: The cleaning process should begin by removing any visible wine remains and coarse debris from surfaces.
  2. Sanitizing wine cellars with steam: The use of steam at high temperature and pressure is an excellent method of sanitizing wine cellars as it guarantees the elimination of bacteria, yeasts and moulds without the use of chemical cleaners. Steam can be applied to all surfaces, whether they are made of wood, such as barrels, steel, such as wine tanks, or various materials, such as bottling lines.
  3. Controlling yeasts and bacteria: It is important to constantly monitor the presence of yeasts, bacteria and moulds in the cellar environment and on equipment using specific tests. This can help prevent problems with wine contamination.
  4. Aeration: Once the cellar has been sanitized, it is important to ventilate the area to reduce humidity.
  5. Regular maintenance: Regular and frequent cleaning and sanitizing is essential to prevent the growth of unwanted microbes. It is imperative that equipment and surfaces are kept clean and well maintained to obtain high quality wine.

It is important to take cellar and winery specific precautions, using products that do not interfere with the winemaking process and avoid unwanted contamination. For this reason, cleaning wine cellars with steam is an environmentally friendly and safe choice that perfectly respects the integrity of the wine.

Sanitizing wine tanks, casks and barrels

Steam is, as already mentioned, an excellent tool for sanitizing the wine cellar, but it is equally useful for washing barrels, wine tanks and barriques. The use of steam for cleaning wooden barrels and tanks containing wine not only saves considerable time but also reduces water waste and guarantees the sanitization of every corner of the containers, even the most remote ones.
